What’s Coming from Me in 2019!

Hey, all!

As I’ve been reminded, not everybody follows me on Facebook or Twitter or through my newsletter (sign up for my sci-fi one here and my fantasy one here), so I should make an effort to update the website with news more often. So, here’s what you can look forward to from me this year.

SFWA Fantasy Bundle

First off, I’m part of a big kickass-fantasy-heroines boxed set over at StoryBundle (available until Feb 14th) with a lot of other fun authors. If you’ve enjoyed my stories, I think you’ll like the offerings in this bundle.

https://storybundle.com/fantasy

For $5, you get the basic bundle of five ebooks in any format, and for $15, you unlock all the bonus books, including my Dragon Blood boxed set (I’ll let you decide whether Sardelle or Jaxi is the kickass heroine in that series… Jaxi is positive it’s her.)

New Fantasy Coming Soon!

As you may know, I finished off my Agents of the Crown series last fall. If you missed it, Book 1 is Eye of Truth (exclusive to Amazon until summer 2019, and then it will be available everywhere).

I’ve been itching to start a new science fiction universe, but I have some dangling series I need to finish up, so I’m going to work on those in between launching new things. I’ve been hard at work on my Chains of Honor series this winter. I’ve finished Book 3 (Assassin’s Bond), and you can pre-order it in all the major stores. It comes out February 20th.

If you’re one of my Patreon subscribers, you’ll get it this weekend: https://patreon.com/lindsayburoker/

If you haven’t tried these books yet (it’s a spinoff series set in my Emperor’s Edge world, and Akstyr, Rias, Sicarius, and Amaranthe all have cameos), you can grab Book 1, Warrior Mage, everywhere.

As long as I was back with Yanko, Dak, and the crew, I decided to finish off the series and write Book 4 too. I just completed the first draft and am editing that now. I should have it ready to publish in March or April.

A New Space Adventure Series

Once Chains of Honor is wrapped up, I’m going to jump into the sci-fi series I’ve been wanting to start since last summer. It will be something all new, series title: Star Kingdom. I’m not sure how many books there will be yet, but it’s going to be my main project of 2019.

There will be pirates, robotics scientists, bacteriologists, genetically engineered badasses, archaeologists, and a ship’s snarky AI. In short, all the usual things you find in space opera. (Okay, okay, you don’t usually find many space adventure stories with bacteriologists for heroes, but I promise the usual humor, action, and adventure.) I hope to launch the first couple of novels by May.

And then…?

I’m not sure yet. If there’s something you’re dying to see, let me know in the comments. I may do a new installment in Rust & Relics or Sky Full of Stars, or I may write a sequel to Fractured Stars. That story is close to my heart, and I believe we need to find out where the dog Junkyard (who now has his own novella) really came from. I also haven’t forgotten that Basilard, in Diplomats & Fugitives, needs a follow-up.

Knowing me, I’ll be itching to start an all-new series by this fall (I was joking with my beta readers about “dragon cozy mysteries” not long ago), but I do want to get some of the older stuff wrapped up too.

Thanks for reading!

  2. Nora Putz says:

I’m super excited about your new scifi adventure project but please please pretty please make time to write a follow up to Fractured Stars!

  3. Michelle Goetz says:

I’ll always squeal with delight whenever Amaranthe and Sicarius make an appearance! If you ever get around to writing a story featuring Sespian and Mahliki in their own adventure, I think that would be fun. Whatever you write, I’m sure it will be great!

  4. Joey says:

I’d love to read more of Sky Full of Stars! And of course Fractured Stars, too. Other than that I’m excited to see whatever you come up with next 😀

    • SusanA says:

I love all of your series particularly the Emperor’s Edge series. Any spin-offs would be my first choice. I just finished Chains of Honor book 3 and look forward to book 4. Thank you!

  5. Sonja says:

Love to see something from Rust and Relics. That and more from Fractured Stars!

Rust & Relics, please! We’ve been waiting for the next one forevers and evers 😉

  9. Talia says:

Basilard would be great, but dragons are ALWAYS the best!

  10. Dan says:

Of course anything from your EE world, I second a Maliki and Sespian adventure.
Something that was suggested on Facebook and is a story I’d like to read is Shulina Arya’s story. Most specifically from her point of view.

  11. Wendy Morgan says:

I neeeed all of these! Ha ha! But the one that jumped out at me the most was A Sky Full of Stars. I love that storyline.

  12. Sherry Frost says:

Anytime I see Sicarius, Amaranthe, Basilard, Rias and crew I get happy vibes. I must say I do miss Bhrava Saruth, as Dragon Blood series is one I re-read on a regular basis along with Emperor’s Edge. A follow up on Basilard and Sespian-Mahliki would certainly be welcome. I just started in on Sky Full of Stars and I’m quickly getting attached. Waiting on the edge of my seat for the arrival of Chains of Honor 4 to hit my library since I pre-ordered. You are my favorite author. 🙂

  13. Shunta says:

    Rust & Relics, please! 🙂

  14. Sara says:

Hi! I enjoy everything, but I would especially look forward to a Basilard story.

Also, this isn’t in the realm of new books, but is it possible to release a print version of all of the EE novellas in one volume? I have all of the books in print and I would love to have the short stories in print too so I wouldn’t have to go to my e-reader just for those. Thank you!

  15. Nicola says:

I would love more of Sky Full of Stars, the story is not closed yet. Any appearance of Amaranthe/Sicarius is always welcome and I love your dragon stories. Thanks for all up to now!

  16. Maria says:

    Shulina, absolutely definitely please!!

  17. Taiya says:

I’ve been dying for a Rust and Relics book! Honestly I will read anything you write, but I do love closure with series. Sky full of stars as well please!

  18. Lindsey says:

More Sky Full of Stars and please finish up Rust & Relics!!! What are Delia, Simon, and Temi up to? Our archaeologists/warriors need to get to the bottom of what is going on out west. 🙂

  19. Tempest says:

Thanks for the update! Looking forward to reading ALL THE THINGS! While I’ll be happy with whatever you decide for “and then,” here are my preferences:

    1. Fractured Stars (my introvert heart identifies w/McCall)
    2. Sky Full of Stars
    3. Basilard
    4. R&R

If this ranking isn’t helpful, feel free to ignore it.

  20. Ameera says:

really i enjoined very much reading Dragon blood and Forgotten Ages and really loved how you write your characters and how you build the story and make look forward more you stories thank you very your beautiful and looking to read the Emperor’s Edge and the other

  21. Eleanor Kelly says:

Love everything but especially the science fiction, can’t wait for the new stories. More sky full of stars and fractured stars please

  22. I’ll add my voice to those calling for Rust & Relics. Yes, please! 😀

  23. Tatiana says:

Hello, Lindsay! I loved Fallen Empire series and its sequel Sky Full of Stars. I’ve been anxious to learn where the story will take Thor and Jelena since I read the third book. I would be thrilled to see the next book this year! I also would like to thank you for your amazing books! I really enjoyed Emperors Edge, Dragon Blood and Heritage of Power!

  24. Paul Davis says:

My desires, in order of preference:
    Rust and Relics
    Fractured Stars
    Sky Full..
    Star Guardians
    Anything Dragon blood

And I wouldn’t mind reading about how life went for Tikaya and Rias in the years between the sereis. I bet they had adventures. 😉

  25. Jessica says:

More Sky Full of Stars please! I don’t want to wait any longer, although I love all of your books. I waited for Flash Gold and I’ll wait for this. But what do we have to do? Give them a dragon ship if you need to!

  26. Diana says:

More EE world please please please!!!

  27. Monique says:

Please bring back the Star guardians !

  28. Jason Hansen says:

Definitely Rust and Relics. Been waiting forever for the next book in that series. It’s starting to feel like a TV show that ends its season with a cliffhanger and then gets canceled…

  29. Colleen says:

I would LOVE to see more EE…perhaps a novel that contains the birth of Sicarius & Amaranthe’s first child (a strong-willed girl, of course!), then a spinoff series some years in the future with her as the main character?? It would be so much fun to read about Sicarius training his little girl to master his skills (minus the assassinations, of course–Amaranthe wouldn’t approve)!!

  30. Vanessa says:

    Sky full of stars!!!!

  31. Tonny says:

    Hi Lindsay,

Great timing! Reading the last chapter of CoH 2 and was able to buy CoH 3 this morning on Amazon.
But I’m afraid CoH 3 isn’t going to last until March of April… But at least I’m sure it’s coming!
    Keep up the good work.

    Best regards, Tonny.

    • Tonny says:

Mmm. I’m going to try your Patreon deal. That should get me CoH 4 sooner and get more of my money to you! Win – win!

  32. Roxie says:

You are amazing!!! Looking forward to whatever adventure/adventures you have planned. Would particularly like some Rust & Relics questions answered.

  33. Naomi says:

As much as I want all of these, I want Rust & Relics the most. 😀

  34. tiff says:

    Fractured stars!

  35. Jennifer M Robertson says:

I would love to see some more of Jelena and Thor. It seems like their story just got started.

I came across your stories in January when I was looking for new books to read and I couldn’t put them down. Each series captivated me. I love your heroes/anti-heroes and strong female characters. And your writing is so good. I now have 64 books in my kindle reading app. I’m clearly hooked. I am going to post a review on Amazon.

  36. Richard Whaley says:

Jelena n Thor. Bringing order and peace to the outer fringes is a quest Leonidas could get behind and help with. Plus he could train Masika so we could learn more of her back story. Lots of possibilities, please explore some of them. Love your writing. RAH. Nathan Lowell and you are my three favorite authors

  37. Ryan says:

I don’t know if you ever plan to revisit the Dragon Blood series, but I hope you do. I’d LOVE to see a novel centered around Shurina Arya and those like her. It was great to see a dragon that wasnt’ full of themselves or outright antagonistic.

  38. Lara says:

It would so good to be able to get your books from Google Play as well as Amazon, especially Heritage of Power series and the rest of Chains of Honor

  39. Joyce says:

Please tell us when your next book about rust and relics will be out. I’ve read all 3 books and looked for news when the next one would be out. Imagine my surprise when your site said Thorn Fall was out in 2014. I just started reading your books but am Leary to start another series if I have to wait that long for the next one. I really enjoyed your Rust and Relics series and look forward to the next one.

  40. Scott Klupfel says:

    Hi
I have been waiting for Assassin’s bond for a while but didn’t realise it was out because it isn’t on Google Play.
Will you release it through Google?

    Thanks

  41. Suzanna says:

I’m not ashamed to beg. The Emperor’s Edge is one of my all time favourite series. Not a word of a lie, I have reread it at least 10 times. It would be a dream come true to read about him wrestling with, foreign to him, aspects of fatherhood. Along with the team saving the empire, this would be a great addition to the series.

  42. Terri says:

I have been patiently waiting for a new Rust & Relics. ….Please?! Now I need to know more about people in Fractured Stars. Those were such interesting characters!

  43. May says:

Amaranthe and Sicarius please. Nothing else comes close!

  44. Gwen says:

I have to know what happens next in a Sky Full of Stars!!! Please please please

  45. Jenni says:

    Hi Lindsay.

Please, please, please could we read more about Thorian and Jelena? I am so enjoying their journey in Sky Fill of Stars. Have read most of your series, and enjoyed every one, but Thorian and Jelena are my absolute current favourites.

    Jenni

  46. Ann says:

I completely agree with Jenni here above.

I feel their relationship is only just starting and needs to be more thoroughly explored 😀
