Novel List / Reading Order

When I first started this page on my site, I didn’t envision having so many novels out. With multiple series of books and a variety of novellas and short stories, the list has gotten quite long. I’m updating this today in May 2021, so it should have all the novels to that point, and I’m trying to include short stories, too, though it can be harder to remember all those!

(Note: I also publish steamy science fiction romance under Ruby Lionsdrake — those books are exclusive to Amazon and can be found there.)

The Emperor’s Edge Books

The Emperor’s Edge

Dark Currents (EE2)

Deadly Games (EE3)

Conspiracy (EE4)

Blood and Betrayal (EE5)

Beneath the Surface (a novella but really EE5.5)

Forged in Blood I (EE6)

Forged in Blood II (EE7)

Republic (an adventure set shortly after EE7)

Diplomats and Fugitives (a new EE story centering on Basilard)

Shadows over Innocence (a free Sicarius background story)

Ice Cracker II (and other short stories)

The Assassin’s Curse (short story)

Solstice Day Gifts (short story)

The short stories can be read at any time, except for “Solstice Day Gifts,” which takes place between Forged in Blood II and Republic. I wrote the three adventures in the Ice Cracker II collection after The Emperor’s Edge and before Dark Currents, and originally had them set 9-12 months after the adventures of the first novel, but the storyline for the series developed more rapidly than I originally imagined, so some of the dates are a little… hinky (yes, that’s the official vocabulary word).

I wrote The Assassin’s Curse right before I started working on the fourth book and decided it takes place in the summer, between the events of Book 2 and Book 3.

Encrypted

Encrypted is a adventure/thriller/love story set in the same world as The Emperor’s Edge stories. All of the major characters are different, though a certain assassin plays a role in the back half of the book. Chronologically, this story takes place about eighteen years earlier than The Emperor’s Edge, so you could read it first if you were so inclined, but it shouldn’t matter.

Enigma (a short story that takes place between Encrypted and Decrypted)

The sequel to Encrypted, Decrypted, is now available.

I’ve also created a boxed set that includes all of these stories, Forgotten Ages.

Chains of Honor

WarriorMageWeb

A new series set in the Emperor’s Edge world.

You may want to start with the Chains of Honor Prequels, three novellas that were originally published as the Swords & Salt series.

Warrior Mage (Book 1)

Snake Heart (Book 2)

Assassin’s Bond (Book 3)

Great Chief (Book 4)

The Flash Gold Chronicles

Flash Gold

Hunted

Peacemaker

Claimed

Liberty

These are steampunk novellas in a series featuring a precocious young tinkerer named Kali, and her bounty hunting business partner, Cedar. The stories are set in the Yukon during the Gold Rush Era. Flash Gold is first with Hunted, Peacemaker, Claimed, and Liberty taking place a few months after it.

Dragon Blood (a steampunk/fantasy/adventure series)

Balanced on the Blade’s Edge (Book 1)

Deathmaker (Book 2)

Blood Charged (Book 3)

Patterns in the Dark (Book 4)

The Blade’s Memory (Book 5)

Under the Ice Blades (novella and Book 5.5)

Raptor (Book 6)

Soulblade (Book 7)

Shattered Past (a stand-alone novel set after Book 7)

Oaths (Book 8)

Dragon Rider — a prequel novella set more than a thousand years before Blade’s Edge. It’s currently available in the Beginnings boxed set.

Heritage of Power

A spinoff of my Dragon Blood series, these five books take place a few years after the original series and feature new characters (but Jaxi, Sardelle, Ridge, etc. all end up in the novels too).

Dragon Storm (Book 1)

Revelations (Book 2)

Origins (Book 3)

Unraveled (Book 4)

Gold Dragon (Book 5)

The Goblin Brothers Adventures

These are short fantasy stories featuring a pair of geeky goblin heroes. They’re appropriate for children (though many adults have enjoyed them too!). Some of the stories were originally published at GoblinBrothers.com, and you can still read them there for free. (The $0.99 collection has a couple of extra stories.)

Non Fantasy Novels

Wounded

A contemporary mystery and love story set in the Pacific Northwest.

Pen name science fiction romance novels

If you’re looking for some stories with humor, adventure, and more steam than is in most of my work, you can look up Ruby Lionsdrake, my pen name. “She” has several novels out now, mostly science fiction romance.

  1. Jean says:

    Hi Lindsay!
I just finished you Agents of the Crown Series Bundle! Great job!!
You asked for review and comments at the end, so, here goes!
I thoroughly enjoyed the first 4 books, and the second half of the 5th. That is no fault of your storytelling ability as to the fact that I do not particularly like jungle scenarios.
I found the characters believable and identifiable, i.e. Good guys good, bad guys definitely bad, although I wasn’t really sure whether the 5 Temples, members of the religious orders were good or bad, I guess the members were a little bit of both. I was not surprised that discrimination and biased judgement abounded, in Kor & the rest of the world of the time, just as it does in today’s society.
Your political drama was accurate and timeless.
Your hero and heroine were honorable, even though some of their colleagues and contemporaries were not. I thought the King well chosen and am glad that he grew into his role admirably and Quickly! I liked all the well conceived characters, especially Cutter, the dwarf and Lornesh, the elf. All of Jev’s family and friends were well portrayed, Zenia’s similarly. Zenia’s friend, Rhi, and her bo, provided both humor as well as a more outspoken, slightly rebellious and randy character. I thought them a great combination!
In all five books I laughed, cried, empathized with and rooted for Jev, Zenia and all their cohorts. I felt particularly saddened for the unicorn, who desiring to do the right thing for her mother, ultimately did something extremely wrong. She shamed not only herself but, also, her mother and race.
I found all 5 books of the series extremely well written, despite the fact that “more easily” and similar descriptions are not grammatically correct. A simple “easier” would have sufficed. My various English teachers always stressed, when grading my work, that the rule is “easy, easier or easiest, to do something or, similarly ” quick, quicker, quickest”. Since I haven’t attended college since the early 1980’s, perhaps this rule has changed but I doubt it. If it has please accept my apologies. With the way “more” is used to modify so many verbs, adverbs and adjectives from television, to all manner of other means of communication, perhaps the rules have changed.
I heartily recommend this series to all ages. I give it a solid 5 stars, or more, definitely first rate work!
I am particularly grateful that Kindle readers have easy access to a dictionary, because I am not the wordsmith I once was.
As for your question regarding seeing these characters in another book, or related series, my answer is YES!
I have read almost all your series involving dragons and enjoyed them very much! You give me everything I want in a book, adventure, strong characters, whether they be good, evil or in between, and romance without the sleaze.
Thank you for an excellent, clean adventure! Now I am off to see what else I can find available that you have written. Who knows, perhaps, because you have written it, I shall step out of my comfort zone to try something different!
Oh, one last thought, I would like to see more of your work written in bundle form, as Agents of the Crown was. I spend more time reading and less “shopping” for good books that way. Plus, ever time I finish a book in a series I do not have to search the kindle store for the next one.
Thanks for a thrilling trip through Kor and beyond!

  2. Bob Brown says:

I wrote this review for Amazon and wanted to share it here.

After reading both Dragon Blood and Dragon Storm series I was left with a dilemma. Both these series were fantastic and I wanted more of Ms. Buroker’s writing but didn’t know what series of hers to chose next. I decided on Emperor’s Edge, I wasn’t disappointed. Lindsay has a unique way of creating a vivid, colorful, fully developed story line and then magically weaving the perfect character mix into it. Emperor’s Edge is a fun, sexy, and very intriguing story. Very well written Ms. Buroker!

  3. Julia says:

I came upon your books when I was searching for something economical to purchase in Kindle. I fell in love with your way of writing and your characters right away. I have since read about 90 of your books and VANNOT get enough of them. They always leave me wanting more more and more. You ask us to leave reviews if we’d like to see more of a story or characters
Well, I would like to see more of ALL your characters
I love you Lindsay/Ruby. And I appreciate all your creations that now have a place in my heart. Looking forward to SO MUCH MORE!!!

  4. Melody Noe-Carroll says:

I am definitely a new fan of yours. I love your stories and how they flow so easily. I can see in my mind’s eye how each of your characters look and what they see through your vivid descriptions. Thank you for that. Your stories are a great escape for leaving this world behind.

  5. Bob Brown says:

I just finished Agents of the Crown series. I have also read the Dragon Blood, Dragon Storm, and Emperor’s Edge series’. Even before writing this comment I have downloaded The Beginnings Bundle, and while I have read two of the stores in the bundle I’m looking forward to reading the three I haven’t yet read.

Lindsay has a wonderfully unique and colorful writing style, and while you can see some aspects of this style in all her books, there are specific nuisances within each book or series. Every good story has it’s hero’s, villains, and sidekicks. It also has side stories that add depth and realism. All of these are built around a solid yet believable story line. Agent’s of the Crown is a great example of this.

Ms. Buroker has outdone herself in this series. She takes a story woven around an elite and commoner classiest structure and blends in characters that epitomize the best and worst of those classes. Then she adds a raciest element to the mix, first between the Humans, Elves and Dwarfs, and then adding Trolls, Ogres, and Orcs. Not to mention Dragons and Unicorns. Into all of this she adds real life, believable emotional trauma and drama. Yes, in the end the good guys win and the bad guys lose, but there are also heartaches, betrayals and emotional twists and turns abound through this five volume series.

The protagonist in this series is Zyndar Jevlain Dharrow. Maybe I should say co-protagonist, as Inquisitor turned Crown Agent Zenia Cham is our leading lady in this series. These two characters are, as are all of Lindsay’s creations, not only fully developed and believable, but the end to the series, they are good friends that you have both laughed and cried with, shared hopes and desires with, and experienced great loses and gains with.

The Monk Rhi Lin reminds me of Jaxi from another great series written by this author. Also some of the dragon’s personality has shades of Jaxi as well. The strong bonds developed during the war between Jav, the future human king Targyon, Cutter the Preskabroton Dwarf and the Elf Lornysh, are very believable and seen in real life. As are all of the social and political issues that are presented in this series. The classiest structure, radical hatred, sexual orientation issues, and inter-family rivalry and prejudices she weaves so well in these books are unfortunately not only very believable, they are very real in the reader’s everyday life.

This was an outstanding series and I enjoyed reading it. Please, at some point, continue this series or pull in it’s characters into new stories. I highly recommend this series, as I do all of her books I have read. Well done Lindsay, keep up the great work!

  6. Cissi says:

I love all your work. I fell in love with Dragon Blood and am SO thankful that you put it out as free novel. I couldn’t wait for more. I now have almost all of your fantasy series and love them. I decided to read Emperor’s Edge series again, since it has been a while since I read them. All of your characters are unique and so very believable in the story line. Your story lines flow well and make the reader always want more. Although your have amazing things happening, they seem normal in their world.
I constantly recommend your books to anyone and everyone who asks what I am reading or if I know of a good book.
Thanks SO much for great times engrossed in your books.

    • Lindsay says:

Thank you for the kind words, Cissi. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying spending time with my characters. 🙂

      • Sarah Marie says:

I just finished up the Agents of the Crown series. You had me staying up all night, not putting my reader away until the sun was up and I knew I had no choice but to try and get some sleep! Others have posted great reviews so I don’t have much to add. I would like to say that I’d love a series that revolved around Lornysh! I may or may not have a little bit of a crush on him 😉 LoL. Backtracking to what started King Alderoth’s war against the elves, what happened in Tazirra, Lornysh’s whole story with his love then eventual loss and how he ended up a lost soul deciding to join the human forces. We know the basics of his story but a more in depth telling of those events would make a great addition to the series.

  7. Faez says:

Loved the sky full of stars, absolutely loved it!!! Can you please 🙏 write more

    • Lindsay says:

Thank you for reading, Faez. I do plan to find the time to write two more and wrap up that series one day. 🙂

      • Tracey Clarkd says:

Yay! I have just finished re-reading them, would love to see more of Jelana and Thorian. Have read and thoroughly enjoyed all of your books.

      • Dave H. says:

I just finished this series, sky full of stars, and would also like to read more. Hope you eventually get back to finishing the series.

  8. Ryan says:

Dragon blood book 9? Huge fan of your work. But I am currently burning up, wondering about ridge and his father skills 😂😂😂

  9. Claudia says:

Just read Junkyard and really liked it. Hope you will continue this series.

  10. Jim Burchette says:

Just a proof reader’s comment. When Cas Ahn and the deathmaker are escaping, the sentence fragment where “…she couldn’t hear the alarm anymore…” is printed as “…she couldn’t heard the alarm anymore…”
I know you have little control over this, but it bothers folks like who tend to read with a critical eye(not malicious, just hyper-sensative) towards grammar, spelling, and punctuation. As always, I offer my services as proofreader at $1.00 per 1,000 words. Love your work. I dont expect a response.

  11. Brian Jones says:

    Jim,
For an interview review perhaps you should proof read first before submitting. “Sensative” is spelt “sensitive” and “dont” has an apostrophe … “don’t”. There are other pedants out here 😂

  12. Randomgirl says:

Usually I’m the silent reader but I just wanted to say how much I loved the Emperor’s Edge serie ! I will forever miss them 💔 Thank you so much for your work !

  13. John Lehan says:

I love the Star Kingdom series, are book 4 thru the rest of the series going to be available on audio-book form? I have so little time to sit and read so audio is a life saver.

    • Lindsay says:

Podium Publishing is doing the audiobooks so I don’t have much control over the timeline, but they are doing a bundle again for Books 4 and 5. The last I heard, mid-May was the target publication date.

      Thanks for following along!

  14. Mary Ann Hudnell says:

I really enjoyed The Dragon Blood series, are the other books available thru google play ebooks?

  15. Ellen says:

I have enjoyed reading immensely. Being from Oregon and a son SE of Seattle I can see all your places you write about in books like the “Death Before Dragons” series and “Wounded”. I can’t wait for the next book of Val and Zav. I only get a few hours to read, at most, a day and I finished “Battle Bond” in a few days.
I was enjoying Rust and Relics but I haven’t seen any sign of this series finishing.

  16. Monika says:

Dear Lindsay, thank you so much for hours of good reading. It’s been a long time since I couldn’t care less how tired I would be for work next day, but just had to continue reading… I just finished Agents of the Crown and miss Zenia & Co already. It’s like leaving friends behind. I liked Emperor’s Edge and Dragon Blood even more. Please consider writing more in those series. I just love your mix of magic, steam punk, adventure, and romance, with wonderful characters that grow on you, even the surly ones. I am trying your sci-fi Fallen Empire next. Keep them coming!

  17. Lisa says:

I have enjoyed several of your series so far. My favorite set of characters, hands down, are the offbeat people Casmir Dabrowski and Kim Sato collect, although they aren’t really that off beat until they enter Casmir’s orbit. Except for Rache and Zee, of course. I just finished Homefront and am definitely onboard with the others to get the rescue of Casmir Dabrowski started (again😁). Let’s get through that gate!

  18. Linda West says:

I have so much loved reading your books.. can’t wait for the 4th book💝📖

  19. Robert says:

Can’t wait to read more in the Death Before Dragons series. I am hooked yet again:)))

  20. Monika says:

Loved Fallen Kingdom. Like with all the other series, again well written, great story lines w witty dialogue, fast paced from the beginning. Could hardly put them down.
A book with the proposal, incorporating Hope Springs (story line surely not finished?) would be great.
Sky Full Of Stars started off slightly predictable but after Stolen Legacy there is still so much potential for more. How will Thor fulfil his destiny? What actually was done to Masika? So please, Lindsay, continue this series and don’t let us hanging.
And do you have a new Ruby Lionsdrake website? Would like to sign up for newsletter and read more abt Star Guardians and Mandrake Company.

    • Lindsay says:

Hey, Monika! Thanks for reading my Fallen Empire and Sky Full of Stars books (Yes, I need to go back and write a couple more to finish Sky.)

I still haven’t gotten a new Ruby website up, but I am about to release a boxed set of the Mandrake books and try to get everything squared away on that side (update the back matter of the old ebooks so it doesn’t point to the stolen website) and just publish the bonus novella for free for everyone so there’s no need to sign up for a newsletter. Since Ruby is semi-retired for the moment, I need to simplify everything there.

      Thanks!

      • Monika says:

Ruby cannot retire, not even semi! I need some more Star Guardians please. Or just leave the steamy bits away and just write more fab scifi stories as Lindsey. Goodness, end of Sagitta was a cliffhanger, did not see that coming. I like the concept of the character groups in Mandrake and Star Guardians, giving different perspectives and skill variety (this is not meant as an innuendo) to characters. I read other steamy novels before (When I was much, much younger) but found the story lines lacking. Not so in your books. Just great. I am almost through all your books and hope more will be coming soon.

  21. Paula B. says:

Hi, Lindsay – Thank you for many hours of quality reading time! I am making my way through all of your series, and they are excellent. I enjoyed Fallen Kingdom the most so far.

  22. JENNIFER says:

    Hi Lindsay!
Any news on release dates for Books 5 & 6 in Death Before Dragons. Want to pre-order on Amazon.
    Thanks!

  23. Wow! Amazing what a great list! Thanks for sharing.

  24. Shauna says:

Hi. I just finished bingeing Emperors Edge (loved it), then Fallen Empire (loved it), then of course Sky Full of Stars (so great!). Your stories are fun with enough weight and twists to keep a looooongtime voracious reader pretty happy. Also your endings are really satisfying which can be hard to pull off for series writers. Thanks for your books. Really really looking forward to seeing what happens with Jelena Thor Masika and Erick.

  25. Ann Hewitt says:

Please sign me up for your newsletter.

  26. James says:

I thought that I would give you a potential idea for a new SF novel or series.
Background research: Kincaid’s Cave, Sipapu underground city in the Grand Canyon.
The setting: Vacationers are rafting down the Grand Canyon, but they begin at a point much higher to the NorthEast of the canyon than is normally permitted and pass through an area that is not normally open to the public. One of the vacationers takes a kayak into a side canyon and sees a curious sight, a waterfall that makes no noise as the (supposed) water from the waterfall comes into contact with the water that she is kayaking in. She goes back to tell the others and the entire group from diverse backgrounds. participate in the adventure. If one pases through the “waterfall” from the outside, going in to the cave that is behind it, they go back in time over 6000 years to a time when there existed a global scientifically advanced society which was the precursor of the Chinese, Egyptian, Minoan and other civilizations. There are two nations that have an uneasy relationship, the Atlanteans (centered in what is today’s Antarctica, a then tropical paradise), whose science is based on energy, which they also used to establish bases on the moon, mars and other places in our solar system and beyond, and the descendants of which are known as the Nordic aliens, and the Lemurians (centered in what is now the Philippine islands, which were mountain peaks at that time), whose science was based on genetics, resulting in the “myths” of centaurs, satyrs, minataurs, pegasus, crerbus, giants, and cyclops.
After going through the “waterfall” and back in time, if one swims out of the cave underwater, they remain back in time, if they swim under the “waterfall” they do not move in time, but if the move through the “waterfall” from the inside of the cave to the outside, they go forward in time. The earth (back in time) is perfectly perpendicular in its rotation compared to its plane of orbit around the sun and the orbit is perfectly circular. All of this changes due to a cataclysmic war between Atlantis and Lemuria, The energy weapons of the Atalateans has such a huge impact on the Lemurians that great volumes of rock are blasted out, leaving the modern “blue holes” in the seabed, and resulting in the earth being tilted on its axis of rotation, the orbit becoming oval and slowing down the orbit from 360 days to 365.25 days. The rock that is blown out forms the meteor belt from which come the Leonid and Persid meteor showers twice per year because they orbit the sun at the same distance as the earth, just that their orbit is tilted 19.5 degrees from the plane of orbit of the earth, the same angle as the earth is tilted on its axis of rotation and the same number of degrees as the Philippine islands are distanced from the equator. The concentration of meteors which intersect the orbit of the earth twice per year are gradually spreading out, but result in the meteor showers being more intense in some years. The spread of concentration of the meteors can be used to mathematically regress the the concentration to calculate the exact date, time and year of the world’s first nuclear war. There is a global sedimentary layer which contains abnormal levels of radioactive elements (which when mathematically regressed by their rate of decay to the time of the war, have the same radioactive signature as modern hydrogen bombs) and decay elements, the abnormal levels of which can be used to calculate the time of the war, which corresponds to the same moment as the meteors being blown out into space and the changes in the earth’s orbit/rotation. the time also corresponds to the Biblical account of the Great Flood. The Lemurians biological warfare gets frozen and locked in to the Antarctic ice, only to begin to be released in modern times through global warming.
Therefore the tale has intricacies in ancient times which also have an impact in modern times, some of which include intrigue and romance in both times.
I hope that this can be an inspiration to you for a new novel or series and that it includes enough scientifically provable details to make it more believable and therefore able to absorb and keep the attention of the readers.

  27. Esther says:

Thanks to a reccomendation of a friend I started reading Encripted. While I thought my preference in fantasy leaned on the historical side, I really enjoyed the steampunk flavour of this series. (Finished reading the three books in about 4 days) Also, I wasn’t really interested in romace-novels before, but the romance between Tikaya and Rias was so refreshing and cute! (If you were to write more books with them, I’d certainly read them!)

I’m really happy to have found a new favorite author! And with your huge bibliography, I’ll be antertained for years (or maybe months regarding how quickly I read through the first series :)).

    Keep up the awesome work!

  28. Becky says:

I enjoyed reading the whole three books. Your book made magic real. The story is captivating right from the first page. That I got it free makes it doubly fun. Thanks for a good read.

  29. Lilly says:

Do you have this list in spreadsheet form? I read every fantasy book you write, and I’d love to be able to check them off as I go, so I don’t miss anything.

  30. Mark says:

REALLY looking forward to Layers of Force in paperback so I can complete the series and move on to the next one! (I could do Kindle, but it just doesn’t look as good sitting on my bookshelf, waiting to catch someone else’s eye or draw me in for a repeat of a good tale!) Great yarn!

  31. Margaret Smith says:

Please help. I have signed up for your news letter. Now got book funnel. So I could get “Robots & Room mates” “Cultured & Clawed” and “The main event” but can’t find the bookfunnel code for these.

  32. Elizabeth Butler says:

Vivianne Laney is absolutely WONDERFUL in her narration of your Death Before Dragons books. I have been enchanted by her voices and the expression she gives to it. Thank you so much! What a delightful weekend I had listening to them! — El

    Hello,

I’ve been trying to get the followup books/stories to endgame like he 2nd epilogue. But I haven’t been able too, where can I get them. I have subscribed to the newsletter but nothing yet. Please help.

  34. Monika says:

Dear Lindsay, I have just finished Star Kingdom. This is your best series yet (have not read Death b4 dragons yet). Such brilliant characters, storylines, and witty dialogue! I had to laugh out loud several times. I couldn’t stop reading. Not enough hours in the day so read late into the night (the perk of being unemployed and in lockdown). I loved the accompanying short stories, especially Main Event. All lose ends tied up nicely. Just read your interview with the sublimely Zee 🙂 aaah I am missing them all already! Any chance of more adventures with the gang? But then again, I liked all your stories and characters so far and look forward to whatever new world you will create next. Keep writing! Sunny greetings, Monika

    • Lindsay says:

I’m glad you enjoyed the Star Kingdom gang, Monika! I had a lot of fun with them, and it’s very likely that I’ll return to do more in that universe. Thanks for reading and for the kind words! 🙂

      • Joseph Hebert says:

Please do write more and soon, lol. I enjoyed each and every page of Casmir’s adventures. Your character development and intricate weaving of the stories is masterful! I don’t recall ever having so much interest in so many characters. Well done!

    • Boadecea says:

I wanted to add in my vote for the short story Main Event. I would love to see more of the rehabilitation of the mighty pirate.

  35. Gloria says:

    Hello:

I have often wondered what happened to Bravo Six. He disappears into the unknown and being the curious person I am, I would love to read how his travels turn out. Just a thought.

I enjoy your novels, especially The Emperor’s Edge series, thank you for all the adventures I can escape to when I need a break.

  36. Mark says:

    Hello,

I usually only read non-fiction books, since I usually assume reading should be more of a learning experience. I think that mindset was wrong. I started reading your Dragon Blood series, and I just finished book 1. I couldn’t stop reading it. Just wanted to say thanks for changing my reading perspective. Happy holidays.

    Mark

  37. Saira Siddiqui says:

    Hello,

I am so glad I stepped out of my literary comfort zone and listened to my husband when he encouraged me to try your star kingdom series. I am now half-way through book 6 and I absolutely love them! The characters are so interesting and their development over the series is incredible. I also enjoy the mythology references a lot.

Thank you for bringing a bit of light to 2020. I can’t wait to read more of your work.
    Happy new year!
    Saira

  38. Hi Lindsay,
I started reading your books in August 2014. I had bought a Kindle and had been looking for something to read in the sci-fi/fantasy books and came across ‘Balanced on the Ice Blades’ (Dragon Blood series). I read it and immediately became hooked and started looking around for more of your books. I have since gone through nearly all of your series and I have also bought the audiobooks. The audio books are ideal to listen too whilst I am ironing, cooking, cleaning or crafting. I must admit that I have read all of your books a number of times and listened to them even more times. I am about to read your latest offering in Death Before Dragons – Secrets of the Sword 2.

Do you know when the audio book of Book 8 – Layers of Force, of the Star Kingdom Series, will be out? I have been checking constantly on Amazon but no sign of it to date! (Jan 2021)

Will you be adding to the Heritage of Power series? I would love to find out whether Trip’s and Rysha have more adventures together, their romance leads to marriage and the biggest question, whether Kaika and King Angulus have any offspring.

I eagerly await your next literally offering.
    Irene

    • Lindsay says:

Thank you for the note, Irene. I’m glad you’ve been enjoying the adventures! I’m late replying, but the last Star Kingdom audiobook is now available! I have a bunch of other projects for this year, but I may return to the Dragon Blood/HoP world one day. 🙂

      • Alex B says:

I whole-heartedly agree with this! I was so happy that Kaika and Angulus got married (I do wonder how she’s doing as official Queen though). I love all of the characters so much (probably too much, it’s difficult not to feel so immersed in it all and feel as if I’m truly there and living it all). I love Trip and Rysha, Sardelle, Ridge and Jaxi, Bhrava Serouth, Tylie and Felastoff (I don’t know how to spell his name, apologies) and Reltad. And I’m also deeply invested in Cass and Tolemeck’s romance.

  39. James Golini says:

Just finished everything in the Dragon Blood world. Both series are great. Please consider revisiting them. Jaxi will be heartbroken if she can’t continue to give her advice to more needy souls.

  40. Louise says:

Love your books and have read them all….more than once. I think you love to write or you wouldn’t have so many books in print. I also think you have to make a living at it so you stop writing the ones that don’t sell well. However, I was really disappointed with the Rust And Relics series. They sort of just stopped. Would you please consider returning to this series? I loved it, and would like to know what happened. Does she fall in love with the man out of time? Does she finally smack her annoying partner up side the head?? Do they stop the elves from visiting earth? Inquiring minds want to know. 🙂

  41. Pamela Kai Link says:

I have always been an avid reader, even at 7, I could be found with my nose in a book. Within the last few years, after 2 neck surgeries, I get severe headaches when I read too long. So, I really want to thank you for having your books on audible and I must compliment you on choosing Caitlin Davies as the narrator for the “Dragon Blood” series. At first, her rhythm seemed to clash with my style but after a few chapters, I absolutely love her style and rhythm.
Your writing ability is truly amazing. As a previous comment mentioned, I love how I can imagine and see in my mind’s eye every character and/or place in your books. The way that you weave a story within a story; you are truly very talented layering so many details without causing confusion. So many books are very linear and your storyline is more circular, similar to those magicians that have several rings separate and cling them together and they are then magically linked together. If that makes any sense? You intertwine so many different characters and personalities within these worlds and as a reader, I truly feel that I am a part of their life. I listen often with my Bluetooth and will walk around during my daily routines, and will laugh and cry and my family members just shake their heads, with a smile of course.
I have been having extensive health issues here lately and will be having surgery on 4/27 to remove a tumor and I truly must thank you for allowing me to escape my discomfort, pain, and all the other emotions that go along with my medical issues. I truly listen to your books day in and day out when I am not studying at UWG or working. I set the audible app on a timer to fall asleep to your books at night and pick them back up when I wake up in the morning. They also keep me company on the many long drives to and from doctor’s visits. I have had several favorite writers throughout my many years, however, you are at the top of the list.
Thank you again for your talent, hours of hard work, and for sharing the worlds that you create with all of us.

  42. Chris Noonan says:

    Hi Lyndsay,
I started reading your work after a recommendation from Amazon in Feb2020.
Agents of the Crown drew me in and I was invested in the characters very quickly.
I enjoyed the reading so much I spent the next few months reading everything I could get from Amazon, loving every new series. The last series I read was Star Kingdom with the delightful Casmir et al. I had withdrawal when there were no more new stories to occupy my spare time.
Imagine my delight when I received an email from you this week telling me about Asylum being available. I had bought it and read it within 24 hours. What a joy to return to that Universe and I look forward to hearing more about Kenji and Mari in the future.
More power to your pen, or keyboard, or however you deliver these wonderful worlds to us all.

  43. Mary C Perry says:

    Dear Lindsay,
I have enjoyed reading your Dragon Blood Series and the Heritage of Power series. Will there be more books following the characters that are in the Dragon Blood series? I hope so because I do love following characters from one series to another, even though it might not be totally about the original character, it at least mentions and ties to them.

Looking forward to more books related to this series.

  44. Nathan Struggles says:

    Dear Lindsay,
Thank you for the hours and hours of entertainment that you have provided, I have fully enjoyed reading many of your series, Fallen Empire, Dragon Blood, Death before Dragons, Star Kingdom, Emperors Edge, Agents of the crown. The way your bring the characters to life draws me into the stories leaving me wanting more at the end of every series. Your dedication and imagination to be able to produce so many excellent worlds is truly amazing and I look forward to seeing where your imagination takes us going forward….. Keep up the great work 🙂

  45. Adam Thompson says:

I recently discovered your books on Audible and WOW! Started with Dragon Blood set and listened to all of them and now on Heritage of power book 4 at this very moment. Maybe it’s Caitlin Davies amazing ability to bring your stories to life, or maybe she was able to bring them to life because the stories are more than well written, either way, thank you! I plan to read or “listen” to all of your work. Judging by these comments, I won’t be disappointed.

    • Alex B says:

I totally agree with you on Caitlin Davies. I love her throughout the whole series and in Heritage of Power. I wish she was narrator in all of the novels truthfully! Her voice just has a soothing but captivating quality about it.

  46. Cricket says:

    Hi Lindsey!!

Thank you for sharing your talents with the world. I have now officially read every book on your list. I’ve pre ordered Dragon Gate (3). I look forward to every piece from you. Can’t wait to explore new worlds as well as, hopefully, returning to old worlds with new stories.

Your works are a delight to read and i can’t get enough.

    God bless.

  47. Niknak says:

I just finished Asylum and it was great. I hope there are more books to continue the storyline!

  50. Natalie Hartley says:

I happened on your books due to the free Dragon Blood omnibus and I got hooked. The only complaint I may have is I finished with both the Dragons Blood and Heritage of Power series and I don’t want to let the characters go.
I look forward to starting new journeys with your other series but I do fear the Dragons Blood and Heritage of Power series will always be my first love.
Thank you for the wonderful stories you bring into being

  51. Cheryl Bess says:

I’m new to your work and decided to take a chance with your Death Before Dragons series and OMG! I’m hooked. I’m blind, so, though I can read books in print format with my speech program, I prefer audio books and the narrator has just the right tone and snark to bring Val’s character to life. I love the adventures and situations Val gets herself into and that tiger…I adore that tiger! I am halfway through book 2, but already used my credits to get books 3 and 4 and plan on using more for the rest. I love humor with adventure and romance and you have it in spades! I can’t wait to read more of your work! Thank you for providing me endless enjoyment!

  52. Sangeev Selvaratnam says:

Love the dragon blood series! I’m currently listening to book 7 and was wondering if there are more books coming after book 8?

    • Lindsay says:

Oaths is the final book for now in the Dragon Blood series, but there’s also a five-book spinoff (Heritage of Power). Thanks for reading!

      • Luke says:

Just wanted to say thank you for your amazing books! They kept my commute to work not boring and helped me stay awake. I started with dragon blood series and now on book 5 of Heritage of Power series. I hope there will be more spinoffs from dragon blood series. I love all your characters and sad when some of them made valiant sacrifices. Can’t wait for what’s next.

  53. Rebekah says:

    Ms. Buroker,

I don’t usually leave notes for the author. However, after reading through those previously left, I feel it necessary. I have most of your books in the library waiting to be read, my significant other has already read them, but my first experience of my own has been the Dragon Gate series. No one seems to have mentioned it thus far in their praises, and I feel it deserves its recognition. How you can pull the reader into the setting and the character is astounding. I have lived, died, loved, and cried with many fictitious friends and enemies before, but growing with Jak and Jadorah, has been thrilling and terrifying. The love, hate, love relationship with Malik and the uncertainty of I’d like to like you, but you’re an ass with King Uthari is all so real. I openly talk to the characters and respond to scenarios as the story progresses, like the characters are listening. I was ecstatic when book 5 became available and now wait impatiently to find out what happens next in book 6. I plan to delve into many more of your books and anticipate loving them all.

  54. Pepper says:

I just finished your Star Nomad series and loved them!

What series would could you recommend with characters in their 30s’ and up for mature readers?

    Thank you!

  55. REGINA D RABE says:

Hi Miss broker I just want to know something is there another series from the heritage of power and the first series book is there another series like it that you’re going to be writing or you going to finish up or have you already finished all the books in the series I would like to know I’m not pushing for another one like another one the books are fabulous so thank you very much for writing them

  56. Uliwa says:

    Hi,
I’ve got a small son and my partner and I started to listen to the audiobook version of your books while playing with our little one since pretend tea drinking and stacking blocks leaves your mind free to wander…anyway we started with Death before dragons, Agents of the crown came next and the last one was the Dragon Gate series.
    We loved all of them!

Wanted to continue with Star Kingdom but it isn’t narrated by Vivienne Leheny, who did the other books (and she is amazing!). According to the reviews the narrator for Star Kingdom seems to not have done the story justice – any chance it is going to be redone by Leheny?

Also have to say that the Dragon Gate story was wonderful and I would love spin of stories or even a continuation of those to explore more of the world’s the portal leads to!

Thanks for great stories and entertainment!

    • Essie Rey says:

Please give Star Kingdom a try. The narrator,Fred Berman, does an amazing job with the variety of voices. I got hooked onto Lindsey Buroker thru audible and listening to Vivienne Lehenny, who I enjoyed tremendously. I didn’t think any other narrator could do as well as she. But, to my surprise, I have loved the vocal acting talents Fred Berman applies to the different characters in Star Kingdom. He really brought them to life. I think this series is a great marriage between great writing and great vocal acting.

  57. Mortified Mom says:

Ms Buroker, you are quite talented. I have been enjoying and recommending Fallen Empire books 1-6… until the sexual desires of the main protagonist seem to be more of the plot focus; can you please tell me which of your books don’t have such focus (ie, re what Leonidas can do with his tongue, from book 6)? Everybody’s tastes are different, steamy/spicy or just a focus on sex is not. I had been enjoying the Fallen Empire books with my adult daughter, and some with my son. That is no longer the case. Your clarifications appreciated!

    Appreciatively, Mortified Mom

  58. Alex B says:

I realize I’ve left a few comments on the page already (apologies), but just wanted to say thank you for writing the Dragon Blood and Heritage of Power series. They captivated me like no other, and I felt truly heartbroken when they ended. I do have hope that maybe they will be revisited one day, but am not expecting anything by any means. Caitlin Davies was an amazing narrator; if you end up having her as narrator again with another series, please let me know. Again, thank you for taking me on dragon, romance, and comedy filled adventures with Ridge, Sardelle, Jaxi, Cass and Tolemeck and everyone else. I hope to see them again someday.

  59. Kelly says:

    Hi Lindsay.

I am a recently new reader of your books and I love them. I do have a question. I feel like I missed a book somewhere in the Emporer’s edge series. Between Forged in Blood II and Republic there seems to be important events (like Seacrest becoming president and Books dying) that aren’t covered in the novels I have read. Is it in one of the other series?

  60. Retanne says:

I’ve finished EVERYTHING in the Dragon Blood world, and the Emporer’s Edge world. I have fallen in love with the characters in both these series. Where do I go now? I love your writing style, and your characters come to life so much that I’m going to miss them terribly now that I’ve completed the series.

I’m a big fan of light steampunk-style adventures, as well as old world/dragon/mage content. I’m hoping for another series where I can get invested in the characters over a long period of time. 🙃

  61. PJ says:

    Hi Lidsay
When I was 13 my sister gave me your book The Emperors Edge, to encourage me to read. I was emediatly obsessed and I’ve read the whole series plus the blades edge series. These books left a real impression on me and are still on my favorites shelf. I always recommend them when I meet another fantasy book lover. Thank you for the gift

  62. Cynthia Bruce says:

Please write a book after asylum, so that I can see what happens next.

  63. Charlotte Williams-Houston says:

My husband stumbled across the Legacy of Magic series, so I picked up the Death Before Dragons Series and finished with the Legacy of Magic Series. These books are getting me through this 6 month deployment I am currently on. I am going to download more books as soon as I get a chance. If you decide to continue with this world, I would love to see Starblade’s character develop.
You now have two new loyal readers.
    Thank you!

  64. NANCY H says:

I just finished rereading Emperors Edge through Republic. I swear I remember a book or novella where Basilard and Ashara go to get her children. Was there one or is it my imagination? Emperors Edge is one of my go to rereads. I love the whole series and it sets the tone for many of your future books.

  65. Aleth says:

    Hi Lindsay
I am one of your French readers.
I really like Val and Zav and I like the way you write.
I would love to read all your books, all the Death Before Dragons and then Legacy of Magic. But currently only volumes 1 to 4 of Death Before Dragon are published in French.
There is a full year of waiting between T.4 and T.5 (this one will be released in March 2024, even if the next volumes are already all published in English)!
At this speed, it will take me ten years of patience to be able to read all your books 🙁
Can you do something for your French readers, please? Do not forget us !!!
    THANK YOU 🙂
    Aleth

  66. Laura Saker says:

I have become a real fan of your stories and how you write. I read my books on Kindle and do appreciate the ease of how quickly they download. I was never an avid reader about fantasy, mostly historical stories. I had been reading quite a few of the historical books and will continue that but needed a break as some is quite disturbing. My sister suggtested I try some fantasy and so I stumbled on you. I am hooked and to date have read the following:
    Death Before Dragon
    A Witch in Wolf Wood
    Dragon Gate Series
    Five Heroic Fantasy Novels
    The Dragon Blood Collection,
    Legacy of Magic
    Tracking Trouble
    Pursued by Peril (on order)
    Agents of the Crown
    Chains of Honor
Star Kingdom – ( just starting)
I do appreciate the books in bundles. On the kindle the whole series just flows from one book to the other. I try to have new series ready to go when I finish one I can start the next. Looking forward to checking out the extra’s you list with the newsletter and seeing more on the Kindle site.

  67. Caley Ann Hand says:

    Dear Lindsay,

I should have written earlier, but got too addicted to your wonderful stories.

I just finished “Rust & Relics”, and loved it. If you ever decide to do a third book in this series, I definitely want to know who is behind the “Jibtab’s”, and the possibility that one of the two main character Elves is might have been in cahoots with this “Jibtab” creator.

Hopefully Simon will have the big monetary windfall he wants so badly. The poor guys definitely needs a morale boost.

Hope Delia makes the archeological discovery of a lifetime, and finally gets the credit she deserves.

And finally, Hopefully Alek finds a descendant, maybe even the one researching his wrestling past.

So many loose ends remaining to close out your series.

One thing I most love about your stories, is your wonderful sense of humor. Love the little jabs your characters exchange at the same time going through their trials.

Sadly I’m starting to run out of your books to read. I’ll be scouring this webpage to see what else might be available.

Thanks so much for the wonderful worls you create

    Regards

    Caley Ann Hand

  68. Bri says:

I just re-read Star Nomad, which I probably got on a StoryBundle. I got the first 4 novels on StoryBundle and look forward to re-reading them. I’m going to check out the other books in that series on Kobo. Thank you for writing interesting books!
